RecipeFile ("RecipeFile") lets you save, organize, and cook from your own recipes — entered by hand or imported from a photo, a web page, or spoken aloud — plus a guided cooking mode with step-by-step instructions and voice notes.
By using RecipeFile, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and all disclaimers on this page.
When you import a recipe from a photo, a web page, or a spoken recording, RecipeFile uses Anthropic's Claude API to read and structure that content into ingredients, quantities, and steps. This is AI-generated extraction, not a human transcription, and it can misread or misinterpret the source — getting a quantity, a substitution, a temperature, or an ingredient wrong, especially from a blurry photo, a messy web page, or unclear speech.
You are solely responsible for reviewing and correcting any recipe RecipeFile imports, and for any decision you make about what to cook or serve based on it.
Voice recipe import and voice notes during cooking mode use your browser's built-in speech recognition to convert your speech to text as you talk — this may send audio to your browser vendor's servers for processing (for example, Google, for Chrome). RecipeFile does not upload or store your raw audio; only the resulting text is saved. The transcribed text may also be sent to Claude to structure it into a recipe (see Section 2).
If you use these features to record anyone other than yourself speaking, you are responsible for complying with the recording-consent laws in your location, which can require the consent of everyone being recorded.
Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use RecipeFile. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Account Security: You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not share your login with others. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
Prohibited Use: You may not use RecipeFile for any illegal purpose or in violation of these Terms, attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform beyond your own content, or attempt to circumvent security measures or access controls. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
RecipeFile offers a free tier. Additional features may be unlocked through a paid RestartWorks (Restart/Restart+) subscription managed at works.restart.coach — RecipeFile does not separately collect payment or store your card details; billing, if any, happens through your RestartWorks account.
You Own Your Data: Your recipes, photos you upload, and voice-note transcripts belong to you. We claim no ownership rights over them.
We use your content to provide the service (store your recipes and photos, extract and structure imported recipes, run cooking mode), improve RecipeFile, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties — see our Privacy Policy for full details, including what we store from photo, URL, and voice imports.
Data Retention: We retain your recipes, photos, and notes as long as your account is active. You may delete individual recipes, or your entire account and its data, at any time from within the app or by contacting us.
RecipeFile — including the platform, design, branding, and all non-user-generated content — is owned by Discovery Coaching, LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may use RecipeFile for your personal, non-commercial use only.
Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Discovery Coaching, LLC, its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of RecipeFile — including any harm arising from cooking or serving food based on an inaccurate imported recipe — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event will our total liability to you exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the event giving rise to liability, or $100, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for certain types of damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Discovery Coaching, LLC and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of RecipeFile, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any third-party rights, or any decisions you make based on an AI-imported recipe or other content from RecipeFile.
How we collect, use, and protect your information — including your recipe photos and voice-note transcripts — is described in full in our Privacy Policy, which applies to RecipeFile and all related applications operated by Discovery Coaching, LLC. By using RecipeFile, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of RecipeFile after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with notice when reasonably possible. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Contra Costa County, California.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Discovery Coaching, LLC regarding RecipeFile.
No Waiver / Assignment: Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive it. You may not assign or transfer these Terms; we may assign them without restriction.
